House Paranos
(Student dormitory)
At the foot of the old part of the city of Metković, on the so-called Napoleon's Road leading towards the town of Dubravica, is the house of the Paranos family, popularly known as the Đački dom. Originally a one-story residential building, which with its simplicity of exterior follows the design of traditional architecture, dates from the end of the 19th century, as evidenced by the inscription stating the year 1882 as the year of construction. The inscription is located on the facade above the entrance door, the facade is divided by windows without any special decorations around them. After World War II, when the house was nationalized, another floor was added and the house acquired a new function, the function of a student dormitory for children from surrounding towns who were educated in Metković, which is why the name Đački dom has been preserved to this day.
