ZRINSKIH AND FRANKOPAN STREET

Zrinskih and Frankopan Street

Today's Zrinskih i Frankopan Street is located on the right bank of the Neretva River on the main road connecting Metković and Kula Norinska, and its development can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century, when the settlement began to expand to the right bank of the river. This is evidenced today by several examples of residential architecture, such as the Puljević, Đugum, Manenica and Vekić houses, which were built in the early 20th century until the period between the two world wars. The houses usually follow the simplicity of design that is characteristic of traditional architecture, and the facade, facing the street, is decorated with elements characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, especially around the windows.
