Local tourism community projects in an underdeveloped tourist area and continent for 2025.

At the 43rd session of the Tourist Council of the Croatian National Tourist Board, a Decision was made on the selection of local tourist board projects in underdeveloped tourist areas and continents for 2025, which are financed from the Fund for Underdeveloped Tourist Areas and Continents. The Tourist Board of the City of Metković was granted funds in the amount of €23,300.00 for the submitted projects: "See the nature around you" and "Discover Metković and the nature that adorns it" in order to continue developing selective forms of tourism in our area.

The area of Metković and the Neretva Valley is rich in protected natural values, especially ornithological reserves, and a large part of the area is included in the Natura 2000 network. This unique natural heritage makes the valley extremely suitable for birdwatching and spending time in nature. Through projects financed by the Croatian Tourist Board from the Fund for Underdeveloped Tourist Areas and the Continent in 2025, visitors have the opportunity to walk through beautiful nature, recognize and photograph numerous plant and animal species, rest and refresh themselves in gazebos, but also quietly observe the nature that surrounds them — in accordance with its rhythm and beauty. Namely, in addition to standard promotional materials, we have created specialized educational maps of the area showing the wealth of bird species and wild orchid habitats, as well as a brochure on wild orchids, and visitors are provided with a place to rest, with additional opportunities for information, learning and interpretation of natural heritage.
